Who we are

The Story Behind "Mideast"

You might be wondering where the name “Mideast” came from. Well, I’m originally from the Midwest, but I’ve been an East Coast transplant for the past 10 years. As I settle into this new chapter of life, I’ve realized that while I may be becoming an East Coast “lifer,” I’ll always carry the warmth and openness of the Midwest with me. It’s more than just geography—it’s a mindset. I love to chat and truly get to know the people I work with before diving into a project. That’s how we can create designs that are not only functional but deeply personal.

Living on the East Coast has certainly influenced my design style. While my spaces still prioritize comfort and approachability, I’ve developed a love for layering in subtle luxury—whether through high-quality materials, elegant details, or thoughtful design elements. It’s all about creating spaces that feel as inviting as they are refined.

Interior design is for everyone, and it’s one of the easiest ways to improve how you feel in your everyday environment. I’m excited to help you bring your vision to life and create a space that enhances the way you live.

About Me

Hi there! I’m Cheree Goone, an interior designer based in Weston, CT, and I’m so happy you stopped by.

Design has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until I became a mom in 2019 that I fully realized how much the spaces we live in shape our daily lives. After several years working in buying and merchandising, I made the leap into interior design, driven by the belief that everyone deserves a space that feels just right for them. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside incredible designers in Fairfield County while pursuing my Master’s in Interior Design, which I completed in 2024.

What excites me most about design is its power to transform. It’s not just about making a room look good—it's about making it work for you. Whether it’s creating a space where your family feels comfortable and connected, setting up a bedroom retreat, or designing a custom kitchen, I truly believe thoughtful design can improve how you live and feel. It’s about supporting your life, your routines, and the things that matter most to you.

My background also brings a unique lens to my design process. Before pursuing design and merchandising, I studied Environmental Studies at Dartmouth, and that’s where my fascination with materials and sustainability began. I love learning about where things come from—especially natural materials—and how they can be used to create beautiful, functional spaces. I’m also a bit of a numbers person (I promise it’s not as dry as it sounds!) and enjoy working through budgets, timelines, and measurements to make sure everything comes together smoothly. I have a deep appreciation for vintage and secondhand pieces, too, because they bring so much character and warmth to a room while supporting sustainability.

When I’m not designing, I’m at home with my husband, our two little boys, and our two dogs. As a mom, I know how important it is to create spaces that support a family’s needs—whether that means durability for the kids or a quiet space for some much-needed peace. My approach to design is rooted in understanding my clients as people first, because that’s how I can create spaces that truly feel like home.
